Blend Recap- Friday

Alright you guys.  You only have to sit through two more Blend recaps until I return to your regularly scheduled programming.  Except you don’t really have to sit through them at all if you don’t want to.  But, today’s post includes about a thousand fabulous photos, so I think you should at least scroll through.  (I’m realllly whoring this post out today, huh?)

Saturday started right around 7am with a GPP Fitness workout.  I almost slept through it, but luckily made it just as the warm-up was ending.  Whoops! The workout was a killer.  It consisted of burpees, push-ups, sit-ups, squats, and running.  I was freaking dying.  And I think I complained to everyone who would listen that the elevation (7,000 ft higher than what I’m used to) was killing me, hence why I was breathing so heavily.  Yeah, normally I’d bust out that workout no problem.  It was just the elevation.  The elevation was making me sweat buckets too.  And it made me really really really sore. Don’t question it.

After bootcamp, we all waited around in our stanky clothes for breakfast.  Saturday’s breakfast was sponsored by The Laughing Cow (Hi, Brittney!) and Muesli Fusion.   So damn good.  I split a whole wheat bagel with Linz, which I topped with three different Smooth Sensations flavors: cinnamon cream, strawberries & cream, and chive & onion.  On the side, I had fruit and muesli with almond milk.

I was perfectly full after this, but then Lindsay Cotter handed out her Healthy Bites.  I grabbed the Paleo Lemon Cream Bites and just couldn’t wait before digging in.  Holy balls.  These were incredible.  I don’t understand how she makes them taste so good.  Sorcery, maybe?

After breakfast, we changed and got ready for our hike, which was sponsored by Pro Bar!

We walked about a mile (in treacherous mud) to the trails, hiked for about 1.5 miles out, then hiked back.  It was beyond gorgeous.  Also?  I totally peed in the wilderness.  I was super proud of myself.  Katie had to give me a bit of a tutorial, and luckily she came prepared with some TP.  No pictures though.  You’re welcome.

Isn’t Kate’s conehead lovely?

Post-hike, Becky, Katie and I headed back to the room to shower and get ready.  Once our sweaty selves were clean again, we walked down to the snack break sponsored by Onnit!

We snacked on rice cakes with amazing nut butter before posing with Whitney AKA Miss USA 2012 AKA the girl behind the Women Against Mediocrity podcasts.  Not only is she gorgeous and insanely fit, but she’s also sweet, hilarious, and smart.  (Def go download her podcasts…for free!)

After our snack (of super filling rice cakes, right Becky?), we got our group together and headed to the Park City Main Street.  We shopped around a bit, tasted some olive oils, and posed for a group pic.

After scoping out some restaurants, we settled on Wasatch Brew Pub. We started with drinks and apps…  Tortilla chips w/ salsa and guac along with pita and hummus!

There were a bunch of us, but I really felt like I got to talk with everyone!  So fun!

We eventually  moved on to dinner.  I split the black bean burger with Becky.  I threw out the top piece of bread and ate my weight in sweet ‘tater fries.  It’s called balance, people.

Once we all finished dinner, we regrouped and decided what to do next.  Some of our group headed back to the hotel, but the rest of us ended up at O’Shucks, a divey little bar with peanut shells on the floor.  The peanuts sitting on the bar also had shells, so  thought it’d be safe to eat one.  That is, until someone informed me that people sometimes pee in those peenut peanut bowls.  Traumatized.

Despite the peanut incident and a bathroom incident  (someone walked in on me peeing and then didn’t leave), we had a great time.  So much girl talk.  I love girl talk.  And I love Brittney.  Good picture of us, right?  We were definitely the outrageous blondes of the night.

We eventually left O’Shucks and ended up at No Name.  The outdoor patio there was amazing and all of the people were so friendly!  I met a few bachelorette parties, a wedding party, and lots of new friends.  I actually did a fantastic job of remembering everybody’s name.  I was creating these ridiculous mnemonic devices and then telling people about them. “Hi, Tim!  I remember you because you’re tiny Tim!” “Cory!  I remember your name because I picture you in a corduroy suit!”  I’m not even kidding about those. I’m so0 smart (heh).

We also met a Matthew Mcconaughey lookalike (named Chris << see, I’m so talented), and my long lost brother.  Yep, the guy below in the black shirt and I had the same last name.  He didn’t believe me until a shoved my fancy business card in his face.  Suck on that!

Oh!  And check out this girls-only pic!  From left to right: Whitney, Becky, Heather, Me, Nicole .  Everyone was SO hilarious and fun.  It was the perfect group!

After more mingling, cracking up, and general partying, Scotty Too Hottie showed up.  Night made.

IMG_4241

How cute are we?  We could almost all be siblings, huh?  Except I probably wouldn’t take picture of my brother’s butt.  Scratch that.  I definitely wouldn’t take pictures of my brother’s butt.  I’m being creepy. I need to stop it.  Let’s move on.

IMG_4242

After about nine hours out on the town, Scotty Too Hottie was kind enough to drive Becky, Katie, and I back to the hotel.  Wahoo for not paying the $20 cab fee!  We stopped at the local 7-11, bought a bag of tortilla chips, and managed to occupy ourselves for the rest of the night.  Sorry guys, but what happens in Park City stays in Park City.  Like Nicole said to me, it’s like our version of Fight Club, except minus the fighting and Brad Pitt.

I’ll tell you this much: The rest of the night was filled with laughing (HARD), eating (way too many tortilla chips), and general inappropriate hilariousness.  I didn’t get to bed until 5:00am.  So worth it.

Come back tomorrow for the third and final Blend recap!!
